Why live to impress others?

“Don't compare yourself with anyone in this world...if you do so, you are insulting yourself.”

― Bill Gates

In the present world ,where right from the titles of songs, carrying on to the contents of phrases and quotations we all say “Be yourself”…………. Why? Why there’s a need to remind people to be themselves? Are they not happy with who they really are?

In today’s world we are living, not because we love to live, but we need to exist, as, if we loved to live our lives, then, we would have been more satisfied and happy with who we are and didn’t find it a need to impress others by creating a false image of ourselves. Nowadays, whatever we do is aimed at achieving a certain image in a society or among some great people. The question here arises, why we want to leave a fake impact of ourselves in others minds rather than a real one?

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

The youth is highly affected by this problem, as, whatever they say and whatever they do is highly influenced by the people they are surrounded by. Generally, they do what the others are interested in, like, wearing kinds of clothes which made them look “cool”, despite the fact that they are uncomfortable in it, they do this to attain a look which others are fond of . In this whole game, we somewhere or the

other loose our true personality, our true interests for some human beings who didn’t even care of who we are!

“The biggest ingredient in a best friend is someone whose actions you respect and who you can truly be yourself around. “

After losing our true personalities we tend to ask for help mainly from Internet by typing “How to be yourself?”……………

Is this needed? Like sacrificing ourselves for someone who was a no one in our life………

At last, we can say that, being ourselves is more impressive than impressing others……… We just need to know what we really are and do what we love to do, rather than getting influenced by others and losing our uniqueness, which we are truly blessed with………….

“I am a rare species, not a stereotype.”

― Ivan E. Coyote
