As I saw her in the distance, I couldn’t break my gaze
As she walked up to me, my mind was in a maze
I couldn’t find the right words I could possibly say
So I just smiled and walked with her the entire day
She looked so beautiful that I couldn’t move
I was mesmerized feeling I had something to prove
She has told me she loved me time and time again
Yet I feel like I have to prove myself every now and then
I love her deeply, and that is my truth
I have loved her since we were in our youth
But I feel like I don’t deserve her love
I’ve always been in her background like a wandering dove
I can’t wrap my mind on why she’d love me
And all I ever want to do is make her happy
But out of everyone else she could choose to fall for
