Will there ever come a time?
When humanity is freed
From the evil clutches of Religion.
Will there ever come a time?
When black and white
Are seen as colours
And not through the lens
Of the cunning eyes of Religion
Will there ever come a time?
When guns and grenades
Are kept in museums
And not with the man in the street
Under the evil spell of Religion.
Will there ever come a time?
when marriage is between two souls
Untouched by the Murderous grip of Religion.
Will there ever come a time?
When humanity joins hands
Not for greed and lust
Not for wealth and fame
Not for cursing and killing
In the name of the Divine
But for the sanity of this world.
Or will it become like a politicians word
That offers faith in the morning
But by the night kills us like
A cobra's posion.
Will there ever come a time?
When the words in this poem
Become a reality and not
Some useless words in a crumpled paper
In the hands of a Religious man.
