I lit red candles and left screaming roses
under a dark melting sky
And I pray now
by silver shivering waters
with a yellow satin ribbon
blood stained and broken
wrapped a little too tightly around my neck
I saw
the wolves feed on each other that night
and the moon rose to its fullest with a bloody smile
in the heavy tinted skies
and I decided the universe was never a game of chess
never black birds against bleaching sails
like you always said
it was
scarlet red tears
dripping thick
soaking ivory hearts
as they bled unto
their deaths
the candles burnt red all at once then smoked away
the roses withered and left the thorns by your grave
