Cry Me A River

When was the last time you cried and felt okay talking about it?

Crying is described as shedding of tears in response to an emotional state. It is a response - like laughter, flinching, sweating - which is triggered by circumstances around and within us. You cry when you are happy, angry, confused, or just sad. Sometimes you cry without knowing why and it’s fine. Our mind works in mysterious ways and it’s okay to not have all the answers right away.

It’s funny, almost ironic how we as a species have left our footprints over the cratered moon but are still trying to comprehend the complexity of human emotions and consciousness. It’s even funnier how we all try to hide our vulnerabilities and portray to be content if not happy all the time? What’s with all the taboo cloaking around being human and welling up your eyes once a while? How does one decide to crown a crying person as weak? After all, it’s a ‘response’ to an ‘emotional state’. Completely human, unapologetically natural.

So here we are, with this adventure asking you to be brave and vulnerable and talk about crying - your triggers, your reasons, your responses, your stories. We want you to share with this community and with yourself just how human it is to cry and why you should never be ashamed of talking about it.

Let’s be a little more open to each other and try to break such taboos which end up putting us inside the vortex of critical judgments.

So click on ‘Start Writing’ and mention ‘Cry me a river’ in your description. Let’s initiate conversations by sharing stories which might help to make this community and hopefully the society a little more open, empathetic, and human.
