What The Mirror Sees

Ever looked into the mirror and thought—who is this person?

Flip that thought. Turn the tables. Self reflect on that reflection.

Ask yourself—what does that person in the mirror see when she or he looks at me?

There is a statistic that says the average human being will interact with 80,000 unique people in one lifetime.

That’s about 3 new people a day.

If that’s true, then that means that you have 3 different opportunities to be you, everyday.

And that’s just physical interaction. If you add social media into the mix, that number is whatever new “followers” you get everyday.

So, for this adventure, ask yourself—who do these people see when they look at you?

Is it the real you? Is it a mask? Is it who you really want to be? Is the mirror just a metaphor?

There are times when people misunderstand us. Judge us. Marginalize us. Just with one look. And there are times when we project all these things onto ourselves because we think that’s what people think of us, that’s what everyone sees, so why shouldn’t we be who everyone thinks we are anyway?

What you think of yourself may not be what others see. And what others think of you may not be who you really are. Is this an imbalance, or an opportunity?
