More Than Friends But Less Than Lovers

I built a wall around me

But you were like a storm

Breaking through and setting me free.

I didn't want anyone to see

How vulnerable I can be

But then you came to me unexpectedly.

I didn't know what to do

But I decided to trust you.

Everything felt like new,

For I've found a friend that is true.

We became more than that,

More than friends but less than lovers.

I didn't see it coming,

That I am already falling.

But you were busy rescuing

About someone's feelings.

I knew I didn't have a chance

But it was hard to maintain my balance.

We're friends, more than friends.

But we will never become lovers.

Because you like someone

And that someone is not me.

So I'll adjust, loving you secretly,

For fate didn't let us to be meant to be.

I don't want our friendship to be ruined

I don't want to lose you because of me

So I'll adjust, hiding this feeling,

Letting everything better left unsaid.

'Coz I know you wouldn't choose me

Over the girl you have feelings for.

We're friends, more than friends

But we can never be lovers.

For I'm not the girl you like romantically

But the girl you like as a friend.

And I guess that's how it is supposed to end.
