They said, make a wish! Make a wish!
I grinned and thought it was foolish.
I was not a believer but I closed my eyes anyway,
words for wishing did not come, there was nothing to say.
Curious, I peeked and opened an eye,
Amused with their faith, I wondered why.
Why wish for the impossible?
Hoping seemed unreasonable.
Skeptical was what they call me,
it was the truth, yet I am not sorry.
I'm done with wishing and hoping,
I've long forgotten the magic of 11:11.
