Our minds always wander through the things we think we missed. For the opportunities we let go, followed by "what if's," just like the man who misses the bus on the way to his house. "If only I got the chance to ride that bus, then I'd be at home now."
We think we missed an opportunity that slipped from our hands. If there are unsaid words that could have been said, then there will be no regrets.
The promise we can't keep and the damage we don't want to take
But it wasn't those "what ifs" that we missed; it wasn't the bus that we didn't take, the unanswered phone call on the logs, or the people who passed us by.
We missed ourselves.
We had missed ourselves by thinking about the things we thought we had lost. Relapsing and revisiting traumas and what caused them
I wonder how painful it is for us to stick our body and our soul to the things that are undone and lock ourselves to the memoirs and the replaying sounds of regrets when we can be better than these what-ifs?
The people we think we missed our chance with We clutched at those unsaid words. There are so many words we ought to say. Save it for the worthy.
For all of the opportunities that fell to us, we missed them by seeing them without looking at what is yet to come.
There is no such thing as missed opportunities.
Everything you missed was not yours.
