7 Best Places to Eat in Sydney

Info

Travelling is always one of the top activities that everyone enjoys. However, the reasons for travelling are many. Some opt to travel in order to see some of the most important landscapes of that particular country, others go to enjoy the culture and the life there. Some people go because of the parties (Ibiza, everyone?), but there are also those who choose their holiday destinations based on the cuisine in that particular country. But, even if you’re simply going somewhere to see something new and have fun, the food that you will eat matters a lot. This is why we always do our research and find some great restaurants where we will eat. If you have a plan to visit Sydney, then here are the seven best places to eat while there.

1. The cheap ones

If your budget does not allow you to go to some high-end restaurants, do not pout, as Sydney has also some amazing cheap options that you can opt for. For example, Bourke Street Bakery is an amazing bakery that is slowly gaining a lot of popularity in Sydney and the rest of Australia. If you want something more exotic, you can go online and find the Spice I Am restaurant on the map – it is a great Thai restaurant that you will enjoy.

2. Waterfront restaurants

If you happen to be in Sydney, it will simply not do to not have lunch or dinner at one of the amazing waterfront restaurants overlooking the Sydney Opera House. Not only is the view amazing, but the food is extremely tasty as well. This is why visiting a waterfront restaurant in Sydney is an absolute must. There are a plethora of options to choose here, but bear in mind that some of them need to be booked some time in advance.

3. Eating in cafes

Many people dislike the notion of a restaurant, so they opt for cafes instead. This is a great way to eat something that can be incredibly tasty, and inexpensive. The best cafes to have your lunch are Single O and Trio, which is located in Bondi. If you want something more organic, do not miss out on the Grounds of Alexandria.

4. Chinese cuisine

Chinese cuisine is definitely one of the most loved cuisines in the world, but not every restaurant serves good examples of it. If you happen to visit Sydney, and you want to see how they prepare Chinese food, make sure to visit Mr Wong, which is a very hipster place to eat your Chinese cuisine at. If not here, you can always go to Golden Century, which is Sydney’s most famous Chinese restaurant.

5. Pizza and Italian food

It doesn’t matter where you are – you will always be looking for some pizza, pasta or lasagna. This is the same case with Australia, especially because they really do serve some amazing examples of Italian cuisine here. Perhaps the most original pizza that you can try is the Kangaroo pizza in the Australian Heritage Hotel – the oldest continuously licensed pub in Sydney. For something much more Italian, you can go to A Tavola where they serve delicious homemade pasta which is extremely flavoured.

6. Vegetarian food

Of course, what to do if you are a vegetarian and you do not want to go from restaurant to restaurant trying to find what vegetarian meals they offer? Yellow, Golden Lotus and Funky Pies are probably the best vegetarian restaurants that you might find in Sydney, even though there is definitely a plethora of great ones. The latter one is, for example, a great place to visit regardless of the type of food you eat as there are several charities that they support so you can give your support as well.

7. The expensive ones

On the other hand, you might want to opt for something exclusive and pricy. If so, do not forget about Quay, one of the best restaurants in the world. Another restaurant to have on your bucket list is LuMi, located on a wharf spot alongside boats, overlooking the Star Casino. LuMi is a combination of Italian and Japanese cuisine, which makes it all more interesting. The kitchen is open and it provides great entertainment, while the wine, sake, and food are delicious.

No matter where you go in Sydney, you will find amazing places to eat. However, it would be very good to have at least some plan on where to go and what to eat, just to be on the safe side. Do you see something interesting here? If yes, make sure to book your table now.
