Blood406 was flowing past the ileum. “Why do you look so sad ?” , she asked.

“I have to sustain so much pressure. My villi are also becoming weak. I sometimes wonder, why do we have to do all this ? “

“You can’t help it. Master’s orders. And moreover , if we stop , Shyla will die.”

“Your work isn’t as bad as mine ! “ , shouted kidney.

“What do you mean ?”

“ Look at my work. I have to deal with what everyone even rejects to look at. Have you ever found me complaining ? “

“All our works are painful,” said blood406 , “I wish we could meet Mr. heart! I’m sure he’d answer all of us.”

“Don’t be stupid. Mr. Heart won’t have time to talk to you petty fluids and organs!”, said kidney.

“You are wrong there. My pulmonary brother once was allowed to come down on a holiday.He said Mr. heart is a very modest organ. He would love to talk to us.” Blood406 replied.

“Alas! I’m growing old and I cant go there to talk to him anyway. Only you can , blood406” , said ileum.

“But how can I ? I am only incharge of the small intestine !”

“You never know.”

“Don’t waste your time now. Master Brain will make you work with the rectum then!” kidney said.

“Saying something ? “, came the voice of rectum.

“Do you even know how hard my job is? Just because I deal with shit doesn’t mean you’ll insult me like that. “

Ileum: “hey blood406, keep this a secret. But why don’t you talk to Mr. heart about our miseries ? I’m sure he could help us.”

“But how? I am blood406. Only blood1-10 are allowed to be in the cardiac chamber. The centre doesn’t open for the entire year ! And the defence won’t ever allow me!”

“Anyhow.”

Blood406 : “Mother..”

Bone marrow : “Yes , child.”

“We are all your children , ain’t we ? Then why is it that only some selected bloods are allowed to be in the cardiac chamber ? And why are we even numbered ? why is our work not as superior as our brothers ? “

“Child, you don’t know how important you work is as well. Without you , the entire metabolism will falter. Never consider your job any less than your brothers.”

“But mom, do you love to do the job you are given ? “

“Child, you are all soldiers. I’m just a mother. Shyla doesn’t even know that I exist. She is only 10…” (sighs)

“mother , I’ll talk to mr. heart. He will solve all our problems. “

Blood406 had already flown from there. She thought it so unfair. Why is no female fluid allowed in the cardiac chamber ?

“EMERGENCY , EMERGENCY !” ,nervehead announces.

“I repeat, emergency!”

“Master brain has ordered all the bloods to listen to him.”

Blood406 joins her brothers and sisters.

“Do you know what is wrong ? “, asked blood59.

“No , anything regarding mr. liver ?”

“I am incharge of him, and there’s nothing wrong with him,” said blood88.

“Neither legs.”

“Nor hand,” radialblood replied.

(Master Brain’s voice)

“Hello , fellow subjects. Our Shyla has a major problem in her heart..Mr Ear has heard her moaning many a times. Mr eye has felt her tears. I have felt the pain. I made her ask her mommy and go to the doctor today who said that shyla has holes in her heart.”

“Holes? OMG! Holes.. oh no! “ (the blood crowd murmur)

“SILENCE” ,orders nervehead.

“And now…. I want you to help me.. there is something wrong with our communication software so we are not being able to send him impulses regarding the proble. Therefore , I want one of you to go to the cardiac chamber and let Mr. heart know the news. He must also know the remedy to it. So who wants to volunteer ?”

“Me..me..me!”

“Oh and I forgot to mention…you might as well be confused with an intruder and be killed by the defence soldiers of the cardiac chamber….. anyblood ready to take the risk ?”

“No blood ?” ,asked nervehead.

“I will go, sir.” Blood406 replied.

“Are you mad ? don’t you know how dangerous it is?” radialblood told her.

“I am totally sane. I will go.”

“Very well then. Your journey begins tomorrow.”

“ Yes sir.i wont let you down.”

Blood406 went to talk to her mother before beginning her voyage.

“Mother, are you not proud of me ?”

“ Yes I am , child. But the risk is too much. Are you sure you want to do this ?”

“ I’ve never been more sure about anything else.”

“When will you start ?”

“Right after Shyla takes her lunch and starts her siesta. Its always easy travelling when she is at rest.”

“Save her, my child.”

“I will mom, I promise.”

Shyla has her lunch. Blood406 does her duty in the intestine and sets off for her job.

“All the best,blood. And don’t forget about the conversation we had”,said ileum.

“I wont.”

Blood406 sets off for her journey. She meets radialblood on the way.

“So you didn’t listen to any of us , you daring wannabe ? What do you want to prove?”

“ Ain’t you supposed to be working ?”

“I’ve just taken a break. And you don’t need to teach me my duties. I have substitution .”

“Don’t waste my time, let me go.”

“You will die. Nobody will remember you. “

“Move away.”

Blood406 also meets mr.liver on the way.

“Hey, champ. I heard you are a very brave blood.”

“Not yet. I’ve just started my trip.”

“You will always be remembered, even if you’re killed.”

“I won’t be killed.”

“Hahaha. You seriously do not know about the guards there,do you ? they will kill everything they doubt. Blood53 always tells me about them when she delivers her blood to the anterior venacava for oxygenation.”

“I must go, thanks.”

Blood406 comes at the mouth of posterior venacava. She takes a deep breath. Is she ready ? Yes she is.

She has to go in. She enters the venacava.
