Yes, people who are heartbroken also feel hungry. But whether they stomach the food or not, depends .

Sometimes the person will eat mechanically not realizing that they are actually mouthing the spoonful and chewing. Their minds are miles away..thinking about stuff. You can easily validate that such is the case by looking at their eyes, distant, void , empty eyes..fixated on some inanimate object. The food does them no good.

Then there are people , especially the ones with fresh wounds.. who have a lump in their throat and it makes eating difficult but a far fetched thought. If by any chance someone who cares even remotely for them..asks them how they are.. then an outburst of tears and a dam of uncontrolled emotions might follow. And finally that person goes to sleep with an empty stomach and hungry heart.

Some people stuff themselves with food when heartbroken, so that there is nothing else to think about and nothing else to do. Eating and sleeping becomes their weapon to deal with it. This may result in considerable weight gain. And when that happens more interesting things follow.

The there are the ones who starve themselves for days or even months after a heartbreak. Food is last thing on their mind and maybe some of them see it as a way of starving themselves to death. But that is becomes improbable and with their bony frames and sunken eyes each night they punish their bodies like this and go to sleep.

Some people resort to drinking or smoking or both.and that is a topic for a different story altogether.

At the end all we hungry and broken hearted people need to eat because nature refuses to comply with our whims and rebellions. We have to survive for more aching experiences after all😊.
