The deer

I've been shutting myself for days,
And quit my unruly ways,
Of cribbing and crying,
And sudden thoughts of dying.
The feelings still peek,
But my listeners were too meek,
To hear unwanted woes,
They're always on their toes,
Dancing and dreaming,
While I'm here screaming,
As silent as I am,
I think life's a scam,
A big, fat lie that's sold,
Some burn firewood when cold,
While some freeze to death,
Unable to draw a breath.
They hush me away like I am the noise,
They crush my spirit and ask me to have poise,
I've stopped saying what no one wants to hear,
I've started posing like a taxidermy deer.
