A glass of Whiskey And a Letter of Hearts

Dearest Lover,

Will the waves of the dainty sea ever know, no matter how high they may rise, they can never touch the moon,

Will they ever know that just across the shore on the top of the mountain there's a werewolf wailing for the same,

They don't. But I know, that I cannot have you,
not in this lifetime, not in this side of the universe.

Maybe on the other side of another universe where our new sun rises on the west,
We'll meet each other in a bar on a blurry night,

Sipping on the whiskey, we'll rant to each other about our ex-lovers,

and maybe fall in love a little, in the middle of the conversation

Maybe we'll feel the sparks fly across the room when our hands touch. Maybe we'll catch ahold of these sparks and tattoo them in our hearts.

Maybe we'll fall crazy in love with each other and call each other crazy once in a while when we fight.

Love is art. And maybe we'll curate an art museum of all the moments of love, where we fall for each other, over and over again.

_______________

"He is a breaker of hearts." That's what they said, when I first asked them about you.

"A heart breaker. Mmm." A glance at you again and I knew, I fell. Hard.

_______________

How can this be? How can this be?

A hand distance apart, but millions of miles between us, like two distant stars in the night sky, close to the eye yet far, far apart.

'Realise your reality', my best friend shouts,
If only I would choose it over you,
In all the infinite dimensions of my imagination,
It still seems better with you

_______________

" He's not good for you,"
"He's the black dot on the white sheet," they said

They wouldn't if they saw the good in you,
 Like I could, For me,
You were "the white sheet with a black dot"

_______________

Maybe in an alternate universe, I'll be blessed with a I love 'you' in place of 'her',

Maybe there, you'll hold my heart dear,

And read out loud, the wedding vows you've written,
On the white piece of paper,

Vanishing into thick smoke from the lit cigar,
In between your lips,
Mimicking an illusion,
On the day we first met,

Maybe this time, I would have the privilege to break your heart and not the other way around,

___________

So this time, when you see me,

Smile a little, hold my hand too,

For a little longer than before,

As I bid adieu for the last time,

As I go on this journey

Don't crush my fragile heart I left,

In the creases of your palm,

As your destiny decides my fate too

As I go on this journey,

I promise to come back,

After Finding another universe

Where the sun would set in the east,

And you and I are born as lovers,

Where you and I are just two souls,

With no chains tied to the past.

As I go on this journey,

I promise to come back,

After finding the universe,

Where you are me, and I am you,

And Yet, still in love with you.

Love,
Sky.
