A letter from the Sea

Embracing the sea for a living
We took off on a wide blue yonder
We knew bellies had to be sufficed
And so let love make us stronger

A grave encounter we now face
Amidst the storm and a chilling spree
We have fallen prey to an unforeseen pandemic
And are enslaved to the fickle sea

We miss the warmth of our worlds
And have succumbed to sleepless slumber
Oh how much, we crave the touch of our loved ones
With tears hidden deep under

Sea sickness and depression
Have become our only companions
Even scurvy hasn't forgotten to deface our tender skin
Yet we still yearn in hope of hearty reunions

A plea for help seems so futile
As our cries have gone unheard
We sea farers too have a home to return to
And live a life the way we preferred
