His eyes told a story
Of love and tragedy,
His face wore a smile
On every twisted mile.
Her eyes told a tale
Of her life that was stale,
And how she hid her tears
To fit in, impress her peers.
And nobody ever knew,
Even the friends they had few,
The dagger in their heart,
Made their souls fall apart.
But one day his eyes met,
Unto hers on a set,
Like the river and the sea,
Like cookies dipped in tea.
Her smile wiped away his pain,
Better than the wind or the rain,
His touch made her drool
Like a baby on her wool.
She never felt so warm,
For he hushed her inner storm.
Though imperfect in pottery art,
She fixed his broken heart.
Before their souls could wager,
They pulled out each others dagger,
And that's when their lost souls
Began to see themselves as wholes.
Death always grins
When humanity dims,
But when two souls meet,
It's more than a love retreat.
