A Thank You Note.

Info

For some people, Linkin Park is just another band, of which they've heard a few songs, and that's it.

For others, it is an emotion. It is something we grew up with, and something that helped us grow. A voice in the background, we turned to in the darkest of times, a voice that reminded us of who we are, that old friend  who's always there when you're in trouble, who you go to in the middle of the night when life doesn't seem worth it any more.

It is fascinating how this works. We never knew him, never even attended a concert, or seen him with our own eyes, and yet we feel as if we've known us all our lives. At least, who he was to us through his words.

It is ironical that we only care about ourselves.

It is ironical that we only notice things when it's all said and done, and irrevocably lost. He was there when he needed him. And we were thrilled at how his songs, his words, his voice sounded like our own thoughts.

We loved him for he felt what we felt. What we didn't realize was that he actually felt that way too.

Our Messenger told me everything he could have. Even when it felt like it was 'easier to run, easier to go' than holding on, feeling the pain and letting it numb me all over, in the darkest of days, you somehow did make me feel like there was a way out.

If only we realized earlier that it was not just for us. It's how you felt to.

If only we knew that your last album was nothing but a suicide letter to the world, that it was your cry for help. If only we knew what you had planned all along.

There's nothing we can do now, now that the sun has set for you, but I can perhaps let you know that no, you did not lose what you did not deserve. You, of all people, deserved a life, a great one.

"Who cares if one more light goes out?

Well, I do."

I do. We all did.

And now there's no going back.

After all, you don't know what you've got until its gone.

Chester. It's really sad you know. 'Cause most of the time bands save lives with their music and encouraging us to keep going. And we can't save theirs
