A Year Ago

I wish it was a year ago, just like I used to say. Kept holding on to hopeless shit and all of yesterday's.

I wish it was a year ago, I would of let go then. Walked in that place, dealt with the truth, Stop playing the victim.

I wish it was a year ago, just to hear you say, "Hey mom! Look at me!!" Instead of pushing you away.

I wish it was a year ago, when light was up, and dark went down. When I was sober, When you held my hand.

But if it was a year ago and if I could change anything, I wouldn't change what we both learned or the man that you became.
