The white wheelchair symbol in blue background designates parking spots for disabled people. It is a familiar sight that you come across almost everywhere in the country. People who have a valid Parking Permit Hang Tag Plastic can use these spaces. Then again, it is imperative that only a disabled person with a permit shall use them. Nobody else can park their cars in those spots.
How it works
Millions of people out there suffer from some form of disability due to health concerns or accidents. Physical issues prevent them from moving about with ease. Nevertheless, the designated parking spots ease their pain and stress at least a little. As mentioned earlier, these parking spots are only for those who possess parking allowances issued by the state. There are two variations of the permits. One is the license plate, and the other is the Parking Permit Rear View Mirror.
The qualifiers
Like everything else, you will receive a handicap Parking Permit Hang Tag Plastic only if you qualify. Car parking permits and their allowance vary from one state to another. The primary criterion includes a test where officials will ask you to walk one hundred to two hundred yards. If you stop to take a break, then they will consider you an individual with a disability. Other physical problems like advanced cardiac or lung disease, optical issues, arthritis, impairment of limbs, etc. can determine your eligibility.
Invisible disabilities
Users of wheelchairs and crutches aren’t the only handicapped folks. You can avail the Parking Permit Rear View Mirror even with unnoticeable physical problems. You may be having tumors or brain injuries. Heart and lung disorders, back injuries, seizure disorders are bothering your wellbeing. Any other invisible disability will allow you to qualify for the permit. These hang tags prevent you from facing harassments which people with invisible disabilities have to go through.
Temporary permits
There are temporary parking permits available too. A few states allow you to use placards as a sign of your disability. Primarily pregnant women and people with broken bones utilize them. These placards will remain valid for about six months from the date your doctor issues you a certificate.
