Am I not allowed to love you?

Long ago, Adi had spotted a creative yet timid little guy with no friends, sitting in a corner of the classroom II 'B', busy with his drawing pad and pastels. He went to him and appreciated the kite he had drawn. Since then Vivian and Adi became best friends.

Adi made Vivian feel better about himself. He was his confidence booster. Once he made him participate in a drawing competition.Vivian was reluctant at first but agreed later. Vivian came down running from the stage to hug Adi after he received his trophy.That day he realized that Adi was his real 'trophy'.

Years passed and soon they were out of high school. They decided to spend one last day together before their college vacations were over. They went down the memory lane and promised that they'd never forget each other no matter how great their college lives become. They discussed on various topics related to sports, cars, movies etc. And soon they were talking about how people nowadays are updating their profile pictures with rainbow filters. "It's great to see that so many people are supporting the LGBT movement. The government shouldn't be deciding who you're going to spend your life with" said Vivian. Adi nodded and said " That's true but I can never imagine myself saying my wedding vows to a guy. That'd be so weird, don't you think?" 

Ten years later, Vivian, dressed in a gorgeous tux, was standing in front of a beautiful hall gate with a sign that read "Aditya weds Shanaya".

He said to himself, " I'm glad that you found your love, which is not so 'weird'. But deep inside me, a question keeps arising  that I buried 10 years ago - Am I not allowed to love you?"
