Red Stains

“I don’t think it’s disgusting. In fact, blood kind of excites me” , she said as she marinated the chicken. My wife is the most amazing woman I’ve ever met. What I love the most about her is how she’s managed to live all her life on the edge. She would never let an opportunity just pass by.

I still remember the day I met her. It was my friend’s birthday and we were celebrating at a nightclub. As I gulped down my third vodka shot and turned around, I saw a gorgeous woman in a breathtakingly tight red dress approaching me. And in no time, she had her tongue shoved down my throat. I kissed her back. Before I could say anything, she left. My eyes followed her to a group of young people, who seemed to be cheering for her. I turned back to my gang and they were looking at me in awe. I didn’t hear a word my friends were uttering as I was already fantasizing about her lips, her lilac-soft lips.

Outside the pub, while I was waiting for my Uber, the mystery girl came over and handed me a piece of paper which had her digits and the name ‘Laura’. She smiled wickedly at me and left with a peck on my cheeks. The woman was undoubtedly sexy, but I never thought I’d end up marrying her 2 years later.

Today, I came back home to the sight of blood trickling over those soft lips and her body lying amidst a pool of blood. I stood their motionless as they took away the love of my life, covered in a white cloth. Laura never purchased anything white as she believed they stain easily. She’d have hated the red stains on that white piece of cloth.

The detectives searched the entire house as I remain there at a standstill. Everything around became a blur to me. They told me they couldn’t find the murder weapon but they would inform me as soon as they make any progress. I couldn’t care less about it. I’ve already lost what mattered to me the most. I don’t seek vengeance anymore.
