An Ode to the Doctors!

'Pheochromocytoma', do you know what that is?? Haha, me neither. When I was a kid, I had a doctor set. Most of the time there is always someone in the family with high hopes and will gift that set consisting of a plastic stethoscope , nurse's tray full of little instruments (like in movies doctors say 'Nurse! Hand me that pair of tongs fast'!) , A little bottle or two of savlon and antiseptic , all makeshift stuff..The kid would then go on and pretend to listen to the heartbeat of all members of the family. I did the same.
To be honest, deep down we all are Combiflam doctors, especially in India. We pop pills like we are popping cadbury gems. :)

Thank goodness I didn't become a doctor! (most probably couldn't even if i tried..lol)
I would have commited mass murders if I was a surgeon.. with the dainty and shaky hands that I have..To top that , my superpower to faint by seeing even one drop of my own blood oozing out.. my OCD would conk me in the head and I would be 'Ewwing' every time at every place..
That reminds me of how I came to write this article. I was walking my usual way from home to the bus stop. I cross 4 big unofficial dustbin dumpyards on my 1 km way. Just for a split second my freshly washed hair was saved from being hit by a garbage bag and aimed by an aunty from a balcony whose 'Arjuna targeting the fish eye' skill was on point and she hit her target in the dumpster! Later in the bus, the guy sitting next to me, was deriving immense pleasure by digging into his nose and making round balls out of the output and throwing that around..
My soul was cringing and my gut was wrenching then it made me wonder that 'How do doctors handle all the gross stuff and all these yucky things that they have promised to deal with, so well! ' Their entire life is dedicated to help the rest keeping everything that causes them discomfort aside. They eat, sleep, sit and live around what I consider unimaginable by myself. I barely remember what I ate yesterday and these special people remember all that they study and keep that in. Yet , most of the doctors I know are the coolest people around. Some are so cool(or hot ;)) that patients pretend to fall sick just so that they get to visit them. Perks I would say ;). Whatever it is, this is the profession that I respect the most because saving lives is just as Godly as giving birth..Isn't it? #RespectTheDoctors
