An Open Letter To That Girl,

First things first, I don’t know why am I even writing this letter. *laughs* Maybe, I just really can’t fathom how girls like you exist.

I don’t think you’ve realized what you’ve done. Or maybe you did. You knew exactly how much it was going to hurt, right? Honestly, I am not that kind of girl who would cause a commotion by a confrontation. I wasn’t raised like that. So, this is my way of telling the things that I’d like to say to you. I’ve been bottling them for a while now. If you came across to this, hi.

You were perfectly aware of our relationship, weren’t you? You knew from the start that we were together but you kept exchanging “friendly” messages. I mean, I understand that you two are friends. I get that. But there is a fine line between being friendly and coming off as a flirt. I am woman, too. I know when something is up.

Tell me, how do you sleep soundly at night? How do you manage to act normal, live your life, and be completely happy knowing you ruined something so beautiful?

I am not writing this letter to shame you nor take back what’s rightfully mine. You can have him. After all, a real lover can’t be stolen at all costs. It is pointless and definitely a waste of time arguing over a “boy” who isn’t man enough to be faithful. You can’t keep a person who doesn’t want to be kept.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate you. In fact, I sincerely wish that the universe would be good to you. I hope my best days would not be your worst. I hope you won’t have to sleep with a heavy heart. I hope you won’t have to wake up with puffy eyes when the new morning comes. I hope you don't get to deal with the anxiety and worry of never being good enough.

Writing this letter also means finally freeing myself from unwanted thoughts, sleepless nights, and ruined days. If there’s someone who deserves to be happy, it is me. It is us—my fellow women who are going through the same thing. One day, we’ll find a love that is sure. Sincere. Consistent. No extras. A love that chooses us even we’re not around.

PS: Big respect to women who knows their place. Women should empower and celebrate one another instead of being hateful and disrespectful.
