I don't get it.
I don't get why after every breakup, all eyes turn to the girl and how she's doing. What about the guy?
Almost always, everyone will see her shed tears, and trying to be good friends they think they are, they'll be there for her, helping her heal.
The guy, on the other hand, gets forced to put on a brave face.
Like most guys in the wake of an emotional event, they sound like they’re “all good” and “totally over it”.
What people don't get is the obvious fact that dealing with the hate and threatening stares they send out to us guys is no walk in the park if they were in our shoes.
Girls and guys deal with the pain of heartbreak dissimilarly mainly because of their surroundings.
Usually, girls have their girlfriends where they could go on sleepovers with, talk about what happened, crack a few jokes to ease up the pain and all that.
Guys on the other hand, usually don't know where to go to get sympathy and open up about the grief and pain because our friendship groups are generally more competitive and a lot less supportive.
We are in a society where guys are taught not to show any vulnerability as it is perceived as a sign of weakness, even though it shouldn't be.
We grow up believing showing emotional hurt could be used against us, and so we act like the Man of Steel, Superman, where nothing and no one could ever hurt us.
At a young age, hiding how we truly feel would eventually turn into a habit without the proper influence.
Getting over a habit, especially if one isn't even aware he or she possesses it, is very difficult and would take a lot of time.
We'd go through criticism just as other people do and I know for a fact that each one of us had gone through it at least once, and it's not a place anyone would ever want to be.
So if you think you're a good person, think again.
Just because you don't see us hurting on the outside, doesn't mean we aren't on the inside.
Guys feel pain just as strongly as girls do.
I just don't get why there always has to be that barrier.
I don't get it.
I really don't.
