Battling Insomnia with CBD and Healthy Habits

Info

If you’ve ever experienced insomnia, you will know that very few things on earth are as difficult to deal with as a tired mind that just won't sleep. Many sleep medications that have come out in recent years have devastating and in many cases dangerous side effects, putting many off dealing with their insomnia. This further exacerbates the problem, and can lead to a range of physical and mental health conditions which can be costly and difficult to deal with.

Thankfully due to changes in the laws controlling marijuana and hemp products, authentic CBD oil is highly available throughout many states. These oils often come as a tincture which can easily be taken sublingually (a drop placed under the tongue) or hidden in food or drinks. This new medicine, combined with particular healthy habits, can put your insomnia to bed.

Here are some tips for battling insomnia with authentic CBD oil, and which healthy habits will complement the effects.

Making the Most of CBD

Everybody is unique, and therefore everybody's body is unique, requiring more or less of something for the desired effects. This is just as true for a CBD-based tincture, as your physiological makeup may require you to take larger doses, or to be extremely careful. A common misconception people make when starting to regularly ingest CBD is to wonder if there are different types.

Strains of CBD?

Most people know that there are different strains of marijuana which will have different effects on the user. Many assume that the same applies for CBD, but this often isn’t the case. There are different kinds of CBD but that usually refers to the production method, these are:

• Full-spectrum CBD contains all cannabis compounds, including terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids (including up to 0.3 percent THC).

• Broad-spectrum CBD contains all cannabis compounds, except THC.

• CBD Isolate only contains CBD

The type you wish to take is up to you, some people wish to avoid any contact with the high-inducing THC, and will opt for Broad-spectrum or a CBD isolate. We recommend trying the full-spectrum, as it contains other chemicals which can complement the desired effects of the CBD.

Dose and Regularity

These two aspects will have the biggest impact on your daily life, and are dependent on the desired effects you’re hoping for by ingesting authentic CBD oil. Be sure to do your research and consider seeking professional medical advice about your personal dose and the frequency you should take it. Overdoing it may have undesired side effects like drowsiness, whereas underdoing it can simply be a waste of money.

Complimenting CBD Ingestion with Healthy Habits

Simply dosing yourself with a tincture of CBD each day may not be enough to beat insomnia by itself. That’s why we recommend some or all of the following healthy habits to ensure you win the battle against insomnia.

Eating Healthily

We live busy lives nowadays, and ensuring you’re getting all of the right nutrients can be a pain. Many people have turned to eating supplements to make up for their lack of nutrients, although there is a much easier solution. By choosing to eat more healthy food, you will be providing your body with the nutrients it needs in a form which is familiar to it. This will not only affect your sleeping patterns, but also your general mood and energy levels.

Exercising Regularly

We all know how important regular exercise is for maintaining our weight, but exercise also plays a role in our mental health and sleep. Most people simply aren’t burning enough energy each day to wear down their body enough to sleep comfortably. While you may not have time to work out every day, going on a long walk can be enough to start the process.

Read here to learn about which exercises you can do with limited time, money, space, and equipment.

Winding Down your Brain at the End of the Day

This is perhaps one of the most effective ways to improve sleep, but also proves to be one of the hardest, especially for young people. Our body goes through a myriad of processes throughout the day, much to our benefit. One of these processes is how your body begins to prepare itself for sleep, it does so by producing melatonin which regulates our sleeping patterns. Exposure to light has been proven to affect our melatonin levels, which can in turn cause insomnia. By putting the phone down an hour or two before bed, you can greatly improve your melatonin production and therefore your sleep.

This combined with an authentic CBD oil (full-spectrum or CBD isolate) can have you regularly sleeping like a log in no time.
