We all have different opinions about ourselves..but many of us just focus on the negative things, not only that we even bring out faults about ourselves that don't even exist. I was one of the many who thought the same.
The world of media has come out with a phrase saying, 'Fair is beautiful !' not only that but many of the Indian cultures say that too..I really don't know how far that's gonna go.. Because I'm brown myself.. And no offence I love my complexion now... The truth is as teenagers and young adults we are drawn by the media and this creates an inferiority complex with ourselves.
I really like the Japanese. I admire them not for just their technology but for their skin as well and their skin products. I was chatting with one of my male friend on the phone about the countries we would like to visit in the future, he said he wanted to visit Brazil and hang out with a Brazilian woman... boys.... -_- .. and I told him , "I wanna go to Japan.. And sit in the bullet train, with all the fair look alike people and I one odd BROWN woman" (I made myself feel inferior because I thought that fair is beautiful, and all the Japanese people were fair too)... I waited for his reply. He just replied two words that made me open my eyes and think, "how could I do this to myself".. I wasn't even paying attention to what I was writing but his reply did make my day and changed the way I thought about myself from then on and fell in love with my complexion.. He replied, "BEAUTIFUL BROWN !"
Jeez ! boys do have a knack in making a girl change the way she looks at herself....
