Lately, I was doing some research about Japanese and Korean cultures for my sociology’s lecture and I found something that I, personally, didn’t appreciate at all ! Many research sites are giving for first selections some cruel prejudice about otakus kinda they are stupid or creepy or annoying.. To name but are few!! Thus, they are seen as weirdos from the stereotypical racist view of the others that have different interests than reading mangas or watching animes.
So, to begin with, I will keep an objective way to talk about it, no one has the right to do prejudice about others insofar as they don’t know them! We are all different; we all have unidentical thoughts and distinct tastes: as we prefer some fields, otakus prefer to make a relation with the virtual world. It’s true that we often find that most of them lock the door that allows us to make relations with them and it can be difficult to approach them but it’s their personal choice and the only thing that we can do is to respect it. No one is born racist or born with a literature that I call: Criticizing people just because we can’t be like them, keep your negative intentions about the others inside you because you are not better than them at all.. It’s not bad to live in an imaginary world and to give free rein to our brain, the worst thing is to talk pejoratively about them just because we can’t reach what they have reached! ©
