she's breaking away from all the chains
that has been tied to her
pulling herself away from its painful grip
that burns her skin so deeply
every piece of chain clanking
resonated its sound within her ears
it seems like the weight of it
added up from all these years
when you're locked up in a chain,
all you do is scream
confined within your own prison cell
but that is where you dream
she drew lines on the wall
and counted all the list of names
each name marks a different scar,
she knew who it is to blame
all she did was give people the world
she wondered what went wrong
all they did was threw her away
now all that's left of her was to be strong
words and faces carved
within the back of herr mind
cursed them every night,
the hurt was too much to be kind
she lays down on the cold prison floor;
tears streaming down her face
this prison cell is suffocating her
with memories she can never erase
it was when she looked down
on the chain cemented on the wall
the moment this chain started to appear
was the very moment she started to fall
she took a deep breath and watched the stars
in the little window of her cell
it reminds her that the future
is something we can never foretell
so now she is standing up
and breaking the chains on the wall
and this she promised to herself,
she will rise no matter how many times she will fall
