I was on a romantic weekend with Ashthitha (my neighbor/ 'good' friend). We were walking along the beach holding hands. The evening sea breeze was spraying across her face, making her hair messy with miniscule water droplets, which made look even more cute. This is new for both of us, we rarely ever get the chance to have 'our' time. At home, we are just neighbors, in mobile we are more than 'good' friends. Except for some stolen moments we rarely get chance to spend time together. This was our first outing, and we decided to make the most out of it.
We were walking for quite some time, neither of us spoke anything during the span. Our hearts are speaking louder than the words. I can almost hear my heart racing and I know that she is feeling the same. Mean while, other couples around us are in their 'usual' comfort zones.
We are both craving some 'closure', but neither of us were well rehearsed with the opening. This is an entirely foreign ritual for both of us. But time is running out, sooner or later one of us should take a 'leap of the faith' (hoping the other won't break your jaw).
The sun is slowly settling down into the mountain bed, the so called evening romance is imposing itself all around us. I realized its now or never. If I were to win her, I should make my intentions clear with her. Surging up all my courage, I decided to make my move. I rounded up my hand around her shoulder, and pulled her gently towards me. She was surprised, but happiness was clearly visible all over her face. She slowly turned her face towards me. I can almost count water droplets on her eye lashes. Her warm breath is taking me to another world. The distance between our faces is slowly diminishing. She closed her eyes in anticipation and I followed the suit. Finally the moment of our dreams was approaching. My heart was literally trying to jump out of its place. Just when my lips are converging, the world around me collapsed. 'Our' bridge of passion broke down as my mobile phone rang with its Racy-Desi ringtone. The reality settled in. I woke up sweating only to realize that there was no bridge at all.
