Changing the World

So I'm trying out this new Launchora thing and I must say, its pretty cool having it pop out telling me what topic I should be writing about. Helps me think less of what I really should write about and just write.

Anyways, I'll also make this as an update for the coming days. Or month. Or years. You'll never know.

But first!

What's one thing I would change about the world?

My answer to that is nothing.

Now, now, if you had asked me a couple of years ago I would tell you a lot of things. I would change things: like politics, or I would tell you that I would like to be a peacekeeper, or start up a dairy queen franchise in my city (cause we don't have it here, the hell Dairy Queen?). What I'm trying to say is that, I was optimistic about a lot of things before, and I was thinking of changing a lot of things in the world, but now, not so much.

Let me explain.

In a nutshell, we are in the most peaceful time in the entire recorded human history and this video will show that to you: The Fallen of World War II and it's one of my favorite videos in youtube.

It does say a lot about where we are right now and where we are heading. Now, I'm not saying that I could see the future and it looks sunshine and rainbows. No.

With Trump being the president of the United States, and Duterte here in the Philippines, things aren't looking so great. But think about it, we talk about this all the time, while not seeing the diamonds in the limelight.

Yes we are heading to a constant state of turmoil, maybe the worse things could happen real fast, maybe it'll happen real slow, or maybe not at all. But in the essentially of it all lies in the idea that we have to destroy ourselves first before we can rebuild. Both literally and non-literally.

Dr. Jose Rizal in El Filibusterismo, has once talked about the phoenix and how it is essential for it to die to be reborn again, better and new, stronger and hopeful. For reform to happen, the existing form must die for it to be formed once again, strong or weak, we will never know, but it is an attribute to change, to learning, and to evolution, and the truth behind this is that, it's all natural in human existence.

Rome died two times before it became an Empire. Europe technically lost millions of it's population in a small amount of time and Ideas and thoughts died alongside it, replaced by religious fanaticism  that no one could explain. Then a resurgence occurred, creating a period in where all thoughts and ideas were expressed and revolution came through. Human lives became cleaner and easier to save, and so on and so forth.

I could state more facts in history, but what I'm trying to say is that, we human beings are always in a constant struggle against discord, but in the war, we always emerge harmoniously, brighter and smarter than ever.

We don't really have to change things in the in the world, individually, because together, as one, we change everything.

So that is why my answer to the question is: Nothing. It's not pure dread for the future or pure nihilism, but rather, optimism that we human beings, we Homo sapiens sapiens  are evolving towards a future that only we can achieve. It is primed in our logistical and rational mind and it is inevitable.

You might think you not doing anything right now,  does not contribute to anything, but when the proper time comes, your thoughts and individuality will be tested, and let me tell you that it counts in the bigger scheme of things.

Anyways, I think I am changing the world, every story at a time. I already have a couple ready for you, expect an adventure soon, in form of a biblical parody, that finds meaning within itself. And no it doesn't make fun of religion but rather it makes fun of what we need to survive and what makes us human. Also it talks about what it means to let go. That's important.

I'll also be making another Handling Oblivion piece, because that's essential and along the way I'll be writing down more of my thoughts and ideas cause what the hell, I'm already here.

Maybe in the near future, I'll think big, but now, I'll take it one step at a time.

Remember, every word you write is an ink stored for the history we are going to create together. Carpe Diem
