Today is a black kind of day
-not in a bad way,
but in a good way.
But now, black is turning to
grey-an unsure day?
Now that grey is tumbling into
a flash of burning red-fear
blooming in my chest.
And now, red is bursting
into flickering tongues of flames.
Fear-dancing and taunting me with
Anger, anxiety, and nervousness.
And blue-
blue slips just out of reach.
A person bends over my slumping body,
stares me in the face, telling me
to take deep breaths.
Blue eyes bore into me
and put out the flames.
And all I’m left with
are the ashes of my emotions.
