- Notice the reply for each packet.

a. If you receive a reply for every packet, your network connection is not the cause of the issue.

b. In case you notice a packet loss or slow reply, get your network connection repaired by an IT professional.

- If your network connection with QuickBooks is OK and you still cannot find the company file, move to another solution.

2. Different types of QuickBooks files need to be accessed Differently

Different files in QuickBooks like company files, accountant’s copy, backup file, or accountant’s copy transfer file are accessed using different methods. Follow the steps given below to open different types of company files:

• For company file (with the .qbw extension) or accountant’s copy (with the .qba extension)

- Open QuickBooks and select the File menu. 

- Choose open or Restore Company.

- Click the open a company file option and select Next.

- Then choose the required company file. 

- Finally, click Open. 

• For a backup company file (with the .qbb extension)

- Open File menu in QuickBooks.

- Click the Open or Restore Company option.

- Choose Restore a Backup file and click the Next button.

- Then choose Local backup.

- Select the required company file and then click Next. 

- After that, choose the location where you want to place the restored file. 

- Finally, click the Save button.
