Criminal

Once upon a time in the land of unknown i came across a place where i met someone special. We started talking about random things ditching the protocol of asl. She was having exams next day so went away after a while. I didn’t know that this small little talk which we had was going to be followed by a lot of sleepless nights. The next day she pinged me which I didn’t expect as I thought that it was jus a one off thing. I asked her about her exams and all and in no time we started talking about hobbies, interests, likes, dislikes etc. I found her lively, funny and interesting, the one with whom time becomes non existent while in conversation.

Jo baat pehle ajeeb lagti thi ki kaise do log itni baatein kar sakte hai bina bore huye woh ab daily routine hoga gaya tha. Ye silsila chalta raha, humne ek dusre ke naam to exchange kar liye lekin dono ko hi anonymity jyada behtar lagi. Waise ye zaruri bhi nhi laga ki ek dusre ke number share kiye jaye ya ye pucha jaaye ki asli naam kya hai bas baatein to karni thi, betuki, bematlab, bina koi wajah, benatija, woh ho rahi thi. Woh kabhi ithlake kabhi itrake apne kisse sunati aur main boot bane sunta kabhi udas hoti to use manata. Ye silsila yun hi chalta raha. 

I nicknamed her docomo as she had its connection and used to get disconnect frequently. Infact the other name i gave her was criminal as she was pursuing a course on criminology which i found interesting and used to tease her a lot for it. I didn’t realised when i fell for her and it became ritual to wait for her and talk to her. Somewhere i knew i had to put brakes but still i went on with the flow getting more and more in to her, the feeling of warmth and happiness it was beyond anything...

This is the time when reality hits you. One day she sounds to be sad and after repeatedly asking her she says this is the last time we are talking as she wants to focus on her studies and ‘life’. Somewhere i knew this will happen but was always in denial mode as accepting the reality may spoil the beautiful picture. Still cried like an idiot may be it was necessary to flush out the emotions afterall thats the only thing left.

It took sometime to forget this episode but still whenever i listen to some of the songs she comes back to mind. 

Sometimes i think whatever happened was a fiction, with its characters having no real life existence whatever life goes on.

The criminal is still a mystery to me!
