Cross roads

Info

I remember how bad I used to be at crossing roads. Every time I tried, I almost got hit by a truck or something. I remember you would always shout at me for being so stupid and how I would get all sad and then you'd just hold my hand, pull me close and cross the road with me.
I remember one time when you were out for a holiday and how I was all alone for a couple of days. I tried crossing roads on my own. Almost got hit by cars, probably thrice. Apparently I got better. So when you came back, I told you that I've learnt crossing roads on my own and that now there's no need for you to hold my hand. We were at the zebra crossing just by side when you held my hand again. Tighter this time. I looked at you for a minute and you asked me to look on the road. We crossed. When I got back home, I read your message that said 'No matter how perfect you get at crossing roads, I'd still always hold your hand'. I lit up. Completely. But now, here I am. Crossing all the roads, unknown or familiar, on my own. Without you in sight or by my side. But that's okay cause after all that you did, this only adds up to your list of broken promises.
