Defying the Five Senses of a Human Being

Do you have that urge to do something but you end up doing another thing that is completely different of what you planned to do?

When you heard her --
You didn't hear the voice of her voice
Or the sweetness of her tone
Instead, you saw the lyrics
Of the song she is singing
And the words she is saying
You saw the sound
You saw the anthem of her
You saw the words of wisdom
Coming out of her mouth
You saw all that
By hearing her.

When you saw her --
You didn't see her pretty face
Nor her beautiful complexion
Or the smile she made, instead
You smelled the scent of her perfume
The delightful smell of her conditioner
The fresh odor of her whole body
Detecting the cleanliness of her soul
By seeing the fragrance of her existence
You saw all that
By smelling her.

When you smelled her --
You didn't smell the aroma of her cooking
Instead, you tasted her experiences
And you tasted her life
The sweetness of every smile she made with your jokes
The sourness of being away from you for over a day
The spice of being intimate whenever she is with you
The saltiness of every words you said when the two of you are in a fight
And the bitterness of the painful memories of her past
She is now wishing that you will stay
And will not be a part of her painful past
And you tasted all that
By smelling her.

When you tasted her --
You didn't taste the bittersweet flavor of her body wash
Instead, you felt her heat
Like you are too close to the sun
And the coldness of her heart
That only melts when she is with you
With that tongue of yours in her skin
It's like you touched the half of the moon
Even when her other half is what she shows you
You felt the feelings she felt
By using your tastebuds
You felt all of that
By tasting her.

When you touched her --
You didn't feel her soft skin
Instead, you saw the scars of her past
The result of her struggles in life
Before you saved her in the pits of darkness
You saw the trail of tears on her face
Like a river with deadly current
You saw the imperfect figure of her
And you loved it more at the moment
When you saw all of that
By touching her.

You see, kid? Even our senses can betray us. With a special person in our life, our senses can twist how they function and make us smell, hear, taste, see, and feel a lot of other things.
