Dream
Dreams create hope
Dreams foster warm feelings that send tingles to your stomach and a smile to your face
Dreams are all you have in this huge world that is easy to get lost in, to forget who you really are..... but dreams,
Dreams are dangerous
It's easy to dream, to create an alternate dimension of reality where you're happy
It's even easier to shatter dreams
Shatter them into millions of tiny pieces that'll make you scramble in haste to put them back together
Such tiny pieces of something so wonderful you had held onto for so long, held onto for so long that it sank through your heart and into your soul
Tiny pieces that you look at and feel lost and despaired, such tiny pieces that you can't even look at because your vision is blurry and your belly is churning and you just want to crumple into yourself
Failure
Failure to thrive, to take that spun vision and turn it real
You failed, and how can you live with yourself any more
How can you face yourself, your friends, your family; everyone that had your back
How can you look at yourself and see empty eyes and useless hands, see a mouth that tends to run off and a brain that falls short of all the mouth says
How can you sleep at night knowing those beautiful dreams now haunt you, remind you of all you could've had like an endless nightmare
Dreams, the cause of so much pain and agony
So stop dreaming, you tell yourself
Stop dreaming of something that can never be,
Dreaming of a future where you'll be eternally happy when you know that can never happen
Stop dreaming of a time when everything will go right and the pieces will fall where they were always meant to fall
Stop dreaming
But if you stop dreaming, then who are you, and how do you know what you can become?
