Drizzle

Info

I want to spend an evening with you, getting drenched in the rain.

Let it start out as a drizzle. I want you to see how my hair slowly transforms into a glittering crown, the tiny raindrops becoming my diamonds and rubies and emeralds. I want you to see those tiny raindrops make a protective shield on my bare body, my skin glittering in the dying light of the sun, making me immortal. Do you notice the tiny few that settle on my eyelashes and make you lose yourself in what lies beneath them?

If you do, it becomes stronger. It's more than just a drizzle now, but less than a downpour. I want you to see me giving up and taking my raindrop-stained glasses off, for I know I cannot win against the winds of nature. I want you to see a drop fall on the side of my face, and then another, and watch the trickle of their union make its way down my chin, across my neck, and settle in the dark shadows the setting sun makes between my body and the fabric that protects me from the rain. Do your eyes follow that trickle down to its destination?

If they do, it becomes stronger. It is a torrent now. I want you to see me look up at the sky and try to drink the falling droplets while everyone runs for cover. I want you to see the droplets of water drip from my wet clothes, making their own soulful art on the dry ground, while I stand with my arms on my side, watching them fall, mesmerized. Do you look at me the same way as I do them?

If you do, it becomes stronger. Everything is washed over, made beautiful and shiny by the rain. The fragrance of the wet earth around us hits you and I, and we breathe in deeply, looking at each other. I grab your hand and pull you outside, to where the drops are still falling, and emotions are still running high. I want to feel those drops make their way down my self, I want my clothes to stick to me, as wind blows and cools my soul down, and I want to hold your hand, so that, if someone sees a droplet fall from it, they wouldn't know if it was from your body or mine.

Do you want to leave the shade and let the water renew you, mind, body and soul?

If you do, it's raining, darling.
