Edge

One step forward, and I'll be damned,
One step back,if you pull me by your hand,
I'm forever standing on the edge, contemplating,
Assuming you'll be there,I keep postulating,
My assumptions will be the death of me,
One day, I assume that I will be free..

Why am I forever surrounded but always alone?
Full of possessions yet have nothing of my own?
Your heart that I loved is blacker than mine,
My heart is sewn up with ruptures so fine..

The black sea underneath the rocks beseech me,
Waiting for my leap, It keeps roaring loudly,
I'm hoping for a last sign and look into your eyes,
It's shallower than the sea,so I'll rather be the sea's price..

There is a world behind me,
If I revert my steps,
There is a world in my front,
Plunged in darkness of great depths,
I'm trying to make you understand my plight,
My soul is fleeting and trying to take flight,
For a journey that'll sever the bonds I'm tied to,
Because I'm so tired of constantly being lied to..

I've seen enough of what you have to offer,
So,hear me out for what I have to proffer,
For how long will you stand on the edge with me?
Let go of my hand, I'll be gone, you'll be free..

Now I'm no longer on the edge, contemplating,
Assuming there will be peace, but the voices are berating,
My assumptions became the death of me,
Today, I know that I will never be free..
