Faces

The faces that you see,
Are made up daily,
With makeup and smiles,
With masks that vary,
In feelings, in thoughts,
With hundreds of plots,
Coz life's a drama,
And we are all just pawns,
Or puppets who dance,
Acting to be under a trance,
With strings all worn out,
But still guided by doubt,
Of what others may think,
Even though you are wincing with a crink,
Still wanting to please,
To make them appease,
All the lies that they tell,
You pretend to take them well..
We have buckets full of lists,
Which gets buried with our cists,
Wishes unfulfilled,
Yet dreamy castles we build,
But alas only dreams that they are,
They won't take us that far,
Coz before its allowed to become a reality,
Our strings choke us to submit to their brutality,
The faces we are forced to show up in,
To cater to the whims of the society we live in,
Are sad underneath all that facade,
Unwilling to uncover ,lest the world would ask,
Why can't you be another puppet and coexist,
Why be a rebel ,why to clench your fist,
When you know what you want,
Yet hesitate ,then you can't ,
The world would become such a better place,
But you, my dear friend, do you want to show your real face?
