Faces

Faces. I have seen them so varying. The faces that were happy the day before are now burst into tears and no matter what, they will be happy tomorrow again. The life is a wheel thrown freely in the hill-side road, rolling up and then down, resting sometimes in the straight ways. There are the trees in the side-ways looking after the rolls of that wheel, and I believe I was one of the trees in his story.

His face was happy. A typical comedy and cool guy in the entourage. He often cracked silly jokes, attended most of the friend’s parties, was there on each and every group games, and was one among those ‘Centre of Attraction’ in the friends circle. A little bit unique way of speaking – you know how people of western Nepal speak. He was the guy of humour. He was single then, no girlfriend no interest in love. A free folk I would say. Friends’ circle was enough for him to smile throughout the days.

Days passed by, a girl came in his life. The girl was nice, beautiful and perfectly matching to him. They were then the love birds of the group. He was happier than before. He even cracked more humorous jokes in her present. The girl seemed to love him very much.

Something happened, a minor dispute between our love birds, I guess. The COA of group started getting angry in the small stuffs, his coolness turned into the fires of jealousy and anger, he started to depart early from the group games, started fighting with the friends in little stuffs. His face was turning, turning desperately different from the earlier.

One very day, he came to us. Face. Face was sad. The tears started rolling down from the eyes, through the cheeks to the chin. I could see the emotions flowing in the form of tears. “Let it go brother, cry as hard as you can, we want that long lasting smile back in your face. We love your silly jokes without improvisation than the short termed happiness.” We let him cry.

His face is turning now. The tears have dried. Oh! I can see that smile in his eyes. Wow! Like a sky cleared just from the heavy rainfall. The face is now wide, and he seems happy. Happy as before.
