Another day for our superstar. Paparazzi will be everywhere! She wouldn't be able to go far. The lights, cameras, and actions will not leave her spared. On the other side of that world, it's just a simple day for our wallflower. She would open her door and a newspaper will sit comfortably on her front porch. Meanwhile, our superstar takes a sip of her coffee. Try as she might, they just won't stop. She, of course, adapted to this lifestyle, a lifestyle full of clicks, smiles that seem to last hours, and interviews that seem to haunt her even in sleep.
The night is not long enough for most of the people whatever and wherever they may be, no matter how they live their lives. Sometimes unironically. Of ice and burning fire, the other envies another. She who lives a peaceful, quite life, wished for an audience to adore her while the other who has everything beyond imagination would give up everything just to have time only to herself.
Two souls, you could say, almost sadly, lingered beside each other, oblivious in front of the camera, jealous behind the screen.
Our dear wallflower had no problems whatsoever. Every morning, her plate is finished, no phone calls to interrupt her breakfast, and coffee always available within her bounds of freedom. Did she care about it? No. She wanted fame. She wanted the flash, the camera, the attention. She craved it all.
While our wallflower struggled to find her star, she who shines bright struggled to find escape. And there is, one way, the only way, to escape the world she loathed and despised, the only regret she ever had in her life that kept her from being free.
The sun is high now. No one could stand the heat so everyone was either in the mall, out of town, or in the beach. But not our protagonists. They stayed inside. Inside where you can be anyone, and anything you want to be.
Our wallflower opened the television in desperation to find anything that could bring her closer to the dream. What she saw frustrated her even more. Hearing the superstar's name made her blood boil because she knew the superstar had what she obssessed for. But the story that came with it surprised her the most. And so the fire that burned inside her diminished into a small flame in the verge of dying.
Tears fell down her cheeks as she smiled. The woman she envied still looked all the grace she'll never have. Her fists, she never thought were clenched, relaxed and one of them reached out to something beside her.
"I'm not famous. I don't have to be. But I will be, famous."
She said as she slit her throat, content and satisfied.
"You only live once." But how often would you truly feel satisfied? Do we even feel it at all?
21Death is provocative with the emotions we bottle up. It's a bully and a savior at the same time.
