Friend-an unforgettable one

I still remember it was the  time when I was in the 3rd standard ,I was one of the 4 class  monitors in class of about 100 students. To be a class monitor was a very  hectic work, we had 8 periods every day and we were given homework everyday. We had to had our copies checked every  single day and it was the job of the monitor  to distribute  the copies back to the  students. Apart from  this  we had cursive writings  for all the  3 different  languages Hind ,English and  manipuri and these  were to be checked  by the teacher  and then had them redistributed back to the students so that they bring  back the same  copy  next   day  after  doing homework .moreover the class monitor  had his own status inside  the class, it was Usually the class topper ,always punctual and disciplined.

One day I forgot to bring my chemistry homework notebook and  the teachers was a very strict  one madame  Monalisa. I was worried and I couldn't concentrate the first two classes and then  I heard a voice
" Delia, u take my notebook let us darkened my name  and rewrite  yours ......problem  solved " This was Sarita .
I couldn't believe my eyes and I blinked and  asked  her," How can we do that..?? "

" it's okay.......u are the class monitor and it's not  good that ma'am  should scold  you in front  of  the  class"

It was true and within  seconds I got my  name written on  her  copy and she had placed  it above the piles of copies that were ready to be checked.

Few hours  passed and it was time  for the redistribution  of copies . Each name  was read aloud  by ma'am  Monalisa.
It was my turn,  "Delia. ..."
She was confused we knew it  from  her  gesture.

She  uttered " Why have  you  darkened it and rewritten  your name??"
I was silent.
" Any way next is Rita" and she continued.
Luckily that  day she  didn't  find  out who hadn't  done their  homeworks.
After the  class I hugged Sarita and cried " Thank you".
"It'okay .....if you were me you would have done  the same thing" this was the reply  I got from her.
I don't  know  where  she is now but I miss her.
