The skies were cloudy; after their dinner at the cafe, Arup and Shanaya were walking down the beach bare feet with a beer in their hands. The sea coming and going creeping between their feet, the sound sea made when it hit the shores, that moment was something to live for. They walked for quite some time and climbed up a cliff before they finally ended up in a secluded place.
“Come let’s sit here,” Arup said.
“Ever been in love?” Shanaya asked.
“I’m sorry?”
“Have you ever fallen in love before?”
“Why do you ask?”
“Just like that…” She said, “I’m just curious I guess.”
Arup looked at her and she looked at him with an innocence of a 10-year-old who knows nothing of love. “I liked this girl when I was in school. But it never was love I guess.” He said, “It was more of a puppy love. I was in 5th standard then.”
“What happened?”
“Nothing… We were two 9-year-old kids. What probably could have happened?” Arup looked at her and put his beer down. She was sitting leaned back on a rock with her hands behind her head; eyes wide open and a grin on her face. “We did kiss once though... No not we... Just me.”
“Yeah…? How’d that go?” She asked.
“Horrible and idiotic I guess.” he said, “I kissed her on her cheek and…”
“And…?”
“We were returning from school, I don’t know if it was something she said or did. I kissed her on the cheek. She got stunned by it and just bolted from there.”
“She bolted…?”
“Yes…”
“But why…?”
“I don’t know…” he said, “I tried to talk to her in school many times but she won’t even stand near me.”
“Where is she now?”
“After that year ended, her father got transferred somewhere else; haven’t seen her since.” he said, “What about you?”
“What about me…?” She asked.
“Have you ever fallen in love?”
“I think I already am…” She said and looked up at Arup as a smile crept upon his face. As gorgeous as she looked when she smiled, He pulled her close. She tackled and sat over him holding his hands on the ground. She leaned in and kissed him, a kiss melting the two souls into one. “See… I won’t run away.” She said. He freed his hands and grabbed her and kissed her again. Slowly she dragged her hands behind his head pulling his hair. His lips were embedded to hers. He slid his hands behind under her shirt.
“There’s so much of you still unexplored.” He said.
“Would you like to?” She smiled.
“Very much…” He got up with her sitting on his lap and her legs across his waist. Kissing her from her lips to every possible fragment of her face; from her neck to her shoulders; “I think I’m in love too…” he whispered. She moaned while his hands carved their own map on her back. He undid her shirt one button at a time as did she removed his. She was bare; the curvatures of her body were immaculate as if God himself had crafted her. He dug his face in her bosoms, sliding his hands on her stomach and way down. The whistling winds that blew her hairs on her face, she put them behind her ears; the way her crawling hands dug nails on his back and the way she smiled and bit her lips, the sea shores putting on the perfect background music; it was almost poetic. And just like that, under the nebulous sky; they fused into each other.
