GALAXSCAPE

Info

In a world of places we are in a setting bounded by stellar remnants, interstellar gas, dust, dark matter, and especially stars.

We are in our own galaxy, somewhere dark but hopeful, somewhere encapsulated by fear but embraced by comfort. It was me and he... just me and her and our love for each other.

The sun was only rising when I woke her up with kisses and she greeted me with a smile; we never get old, our love never gets old. We both get ready for this day, I helped her choose the dress that she said should make her look younger and beautiful, but I doubt she would need that, she still looks the same for me even after ages passed and many layers of time has been stacked.

Not long enough, I put her into the car, and I jumped into it like how we used to years ago. She tugged into my sleeves like a little child, telling me to let her decide on this one; she'll be the one to choose the places we are about to go to. I let her.

We did everything like it is the first time, like revisiting the past but surprisingly, everything seems new to us and things are very exciting, but i can see how things changed... we both know how things changed.

The sun was about to set and I can see her water-filled eyes where exhaustion can be traced into. I know she's tired, and so I decided for us to go home. But on our way, she once again tugged into my shirt, speaking with the tinniest voice, almost a whisper that I have to lower the volume of my radio so I could hear her. She is insisting that we have one more place to go to. And so we headed towards it, to the place full of her favorite things, the stars.

I carefully let her out, carrying her to the perfect spot, with a baggage in hand we both know how important.

She watched the stars while I watched her, wiping away the tear I only realized was there when it was halfway through my cheeks. She suddenly looked into my direction and told me with passion in her eyes how a shooting star just passed through and how she wished for me, how she wished for me to get by. I was all of a sudden confused with her words, but my mouth didn't utter the questions I want to say, but i said "I love you" instead. "Always and forever", she whispered.

She gestured that she wanted to lay down, and so I helped her. I gazed at her, staring at how breathing became difficult for her that she even needs the stupid baggage that hurts me every time I look at it; it reminds me of how hard it is for her to still fight. It was indeed painful to see someone you love supported by an oxygen tank, that without this, we would have less time to spend in each other's company. But despite the tube covering a portion of her face, she still looks wonderful that even the stars should be ashamed of her beauty.

My eyes grew heavy, so we lie there, side by side, facing the stars and the moon.

When I woke up, what I feared most when I close my eyes happened. I opened my eyes, blink many times than I can even count, and then there goes the tears that turns into sobs, then eventually into screams of agony. It was the very reason she looked the most wonderful that night; she was a supernova, but she gave a quiet explosion, a peaceful one, with the brightest shine of all, until she's no more there. She's gone, everything's gone. My everything's gone.
