Glimpse of past

Info

I remember like you remember,
The days that I thought dark
Like the days when you were in school.
They kept me aloof those days,
Like they had left you ignored.
They looked down to me as a stinking fly,
Like they treated you as any unwanted audience.

I remember like you remember,
The syllabus that I had like you studied the literature.
There was a chapter of Mr. Nobody,
Surprisingly, the invisible man gained much popularity.
I used to dream of having such a life,
Like you too wished to be rather unseen than seen.
I had felt an urge to do something unique,
Like you showed the writings filled last pages of notebook.

I remember like you remember,
The functions that ended with applause with ovation.
All the years with passing time and months of hardship,
I had started to think myself useless,
Like you thought yourself to be unworthy of any gala time.
I quietly pondered if my teachers would take me in the functions,
Like you sat behind on the last bench asking the same.

I remember like you remember,
The classes that had no teacher to assist,
And all were left free of their will within the four walls covered.
At those times I used to keep my head low,
Like you used to stare in the notebooks.
And slowly carefully try to comprehend subjects,
Like you thoroughly updated your class progress.
In those leisure classes, I saw them having fun,
Like you had heard them giggling and gossip.
They made jokes and spoke foreign topics,
And so many secrets that except me everyone knew,
Like you discovered those rumours of your secret crush.

I remember like you remember,
In those classes and break hours they spoke ill of me,
For the sake of childish fun and nonsense,
Like you had over heard them speaking same about others.
They used to discuss the beauty of the classmates,
And I secretly wished they would call me beautiful,
Like you had wanted to be called for once.
When they would keep naming one by one and then me,
I would slowly draw a smile of true lights,
Like you shied away from the compliments.

I remember like you do remember,
Of those time when their niceness stayed temporary,
I would be bitten by bitterment of their cruel tone,
Like you gulped the aggression instead of replying.
I would in my mind curse them,
Like you secretly silently replied bravely to their long gone talks.

I remember like you remember,
Those times when I would rush to the bathroom,
Like you tried to find solace.
And shushed the tearing eyed with motherliness from within,
Like you vented anger by throwing water on the head.
But here comes the line between us,
For now we must depart.

I remember like you remember,
I had to commence my journey of parting intersection,
Like you too had to go off in opposite direction.
I wasn't ready to let go you,
Like you held onto me forever despite the truth.
I am sorry I moved on in a way,
Like you proceeded after a force.
I stood facing the mirror reflecting myself,
Like you stood staring at me for a moment.
I looked into the mirror and thought of them in my head,
Like you kept looking at me then.

I remember like you remember,
About the many advices I gave you everytime.
From those pieces here's another to you,
Sometimes facing the mirror isn't building confidence.
It's too take out the aggression of the suppressed,
Reply them thinking them in your mind.
Trust me one more time like you did before,
Once you let the negative go,
You will feel confident like the new you.
Here I part dear you!
Like you have a long way to go.
