Happiness is time spent with family,
In gales of laughter or in silence,
Elders gifting you wisdom, uncannily
In siblings, finding alliance.
Happiness is re-reading fantasy books,
Unfolding the mystery and magic, anew
Going down those memory brooks
Crossing the bridge of wonder to get through
Into the forest of forgotten nooks
Cherishing the dreamscape's unvarnished view.
Happiness is riding the bus with friends
Sharing back-breaking last seat jerks and smiles
Happiness is not giving up to trends
Being 'weird' and straying from the path for miles
Happiness is exploring all the bends
Saving up memories in mental files.
Happiness is something I've felt
A safe house in which I've dwelt
A fact I am grateful about
Counting my blessings and not my doubts.
From the perspective of a depressed woman who sells other women's bodies for a living.
