HONEY’S TALES #1 : GOOD BEGINNING(S)

“What are you doing Honey?” RP almost shouted.

“Sush… the temper RP!” Mattress cut in.

“I know.. I know… but don’t you see? She has been wandering off in thoughts since the beginning! When is she going to complete it?” RP snorted.

“RP…” Mattress started to say.

“He’s right Mattress… maybe I got too excited” Honey cut in.

“Oh Honey dear... It’s not that…” Mattress tried to convince.

“I’m sorry RP.. this time, I will complete it...” Honey promised.

“Alright..” RP agreed.

“It was a rainy day…” Honey started to narrate again.

RP and Mattress looked at each other.

“Bubby was walking back home from the park she usually played with her friends in...” Honey stopped midway when she noticed RP and Mattresses’ grumpy looks.

“What?” she asked confused. She had definitely not wandered off!

“Just the question I expected..” RP looked furious once again.

Honey sat there looking from Mattresses to RP hoping one of them to explain what the matter was this time.

“This is not the what you were narrating before Honey..” Mattresses finally said.

“It isn’t? Oh….But I...” Honey tried to hide from RP’s angry glares.

Was she talking about Mr. Snuffles? Or the blue traitor? Or.. this wasn’t working out. Honey looked at Mattress silently asking for help.

“You were talking about your home in the..” Mattress had not completed saying when Honey cut in again.

“Oh right….now I remember!... I was talking about how I met Bubby..” Honey looked at RP with the widest grin.

She had barely said another word when...

Purvi came into the room in a hurry. She was looking around to find the best spot... She has to hide ‘it’ before Bhuv finds out about it.

“Purvi…” It was Bhuv calling.

Purvi ran towards the bed and hid the package under Bhuv’s pillow and moved away from it to avoid any suspicion.

“Ouch..ouch..” RP kept complaining every second.

“What is it RP?” Honey kept asking while Mattresses kept smiling all the while.

“Hey! Ouch.. look out..ouch…where your...ouch...hands are going..ouch” RP was saying to whomever it was in the package when…

Bhuv came into the room to find Purvi standing near his side of the bed, with a mysterious smile. He straight away went for his pillow which seemed to be the reason for Purvi’s smile.

“What is this?” Bhuv asked halfway opening the gift.

It was a ship helm shaped desk clock with their best pictures on the face. Purvi had picked the design considering Bhuv’s passion for sailing. It had to be the perfect gift for their one month anniversary.

“Ah… feeling better now” RP said in relief after Bhuv had taken away the clock from under him. Honey and Mattresses laughed.

“What? You will not understand what it was like..” RP murmured.

“Do you want me to continue RP?” Honey asked half laughing.

“No… had enough for the day,” RP said and shut his eyes.

“It was a good beginning though.. Or should I say beginnings?” Mattresses asked Honey who put up a guilty smile.
