To date, hair health has become more significant not only for women, but also for men. Everyone starts to look for hair treatment in order to get strong, shiny and easy to manage hair. The first thing that you can do is you need to dial down the heat. You need to throw away some tools that can cause heat to your hair such as blow dryers, straightening irons, hot curlers, and other heated styling tools that can take a toll on your hair, especially if you are having a fine, dry and prone to breakage type of hair. It is because that research done gives a result that too much heat to the hair will make your hair weaken, which later will result in strands that are damaged or frizzy. A study that was conducted in 2011 gave a result that in order to limit the damage from hair drying, it is recommended to hold the blow dryer about 6 inches away from the surface of your hair, and always move the dryer so that it will not only concentrate on one spot.
Besides that, you need to boost your daily vitamin or supplement intake. It is believed that like the rest of your body, some specific minerals and vitamins may also help your hair to be healthy and strong. Research has been done showing that lack of nutrients in our body may contribute to hair loss. Some vitamins and minerals that will help for hair growth such as Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, iron and zinc. Some of you may find that it is quite difficult to gain the necessary nutrients from your daily foods’ intake, so you may consider to consume multivitamins that include these minerals and vitamins.
Apart from that, you may also have to make sure that you are using the right shampoo for your hair. It is important to always keep your hair clean. But in order to remove the oiliness and dirt, some ingredients in the shampoo will strip away your hair’s natural oils as well. Unless your hair is extremely oily, you may wash your hair with shampoo two to three times in a week instead of everyday. It is because washing your hair with shampoo regularly will dry it out and make the hair shaft weaken.
Another step that you can do is massaging your hair scalp regularly. By doing that, it will improve the health and condition of your scalp by stimulating the blood circulation in your scalp, which will later escalate the blood flow to your hair follicles. You can apply gentle pressure with your fingertips in a circular motion for several minutes. You can do this just before you put the shampoo onto your hair, either on a dry hair or when your hair is getting wet.
Finally, you can try to apply aloe vera on your hair and scalp. Aloe vera is a plant that is rich in nutrients and minerals such as Vitamins A, C and E that will help to encourage the cells to have a healthy growth, including the cells in your hair. Besides that, Vitamins B-12 and folic acid that were contained in the aloe vera may be very helpful for you to get healthy hair.
