How Does Love Look Like ?

"Throw", I said as she tossed up the umbrella. The lightning banged as the playback musicians while it down poured incessantly. The noise drew her a step close to me. The gap between us was so miniature, that I could even feel her breath on my chest.

As all other passerby's on the street were running for shelter, we were standing amidst the street gazing at each other without even blinking. As if, we were playing a game of not blinking our eyes with an extra difficulty. The hindrance being the drops of water which had already accumulated a lot on our eye lids. I blinked and exclaimed,

"No wonder, why girls are tough mentally"

She smiled to say, "Aha, mushy mushy :) "

And, when she said this, this triggered an extra X-chromosome somehow into the cells of my body. Normally, I'd have been a sufferer of Klinefelter's syndrome. I somehow giggled this thought in my mind. The sense of belonging acted as a cloak over the pun as it got covered up.

"What a beautiful creature human beings are!"

I exclaimed as I could see a drop of sweat run down her watery face. The drop of sweat amidst the water was no un-natural as she had never been in such proximity of mine in which she was just a scale away from me. The soul drop of sweat came running beside her eyes, narrowing its path. It came and sat just on her little chubby cheeks forming a perfect curvature. I could feel the sweat loosing its energy as it wanted to settle down. After all, being the lone soldier betwixt the water droplets, it wasn't easy for it too. They had over powered it. I made it a martyr by a blow of air,

                                               "Phewwwwwwwwww..."

as the sweat droplet burst and I was bewildered not seeing her marvelous face. Something not of a regular routine was what followed. The blow resulted in moving of the scattered left over watery hair. Yes, it was that powerful. Could have turned kingdoms upside down. Amazed, when I rolled my fingers over her forehead, slightly diagonal above her right eye. She used to cover it by her hair. I couldn't resist myself but exclaimed,

                                           "Gosh, what about this scar...?'

She remained silent, I understood. A chill ran down my spine. Silence, the delicacy in them is somewhat more than what is spoken.

                                          She commenced, "My ex......"

I put my index finger on her lips.

I mumbled, "Ah! I'm here... Don't look back,

                                                           you aren't going that way"

She breathed deeply, I could feel her eyes. They were in constant communion with mine. Always eager for our first romance. She was broke only to be united by another suffered.

She asked, "You are in love

so...what does love look like ?"

To which I replied,

                                                Like everything I've ever lost

has come to me :') "

The normal love stories didn't prevail true. The constant broke in this present one. She kissed me. Entangled were the two upper and lower lips. I held her tight as soon as she touched me. In the midst of our love making, the rain had stopped. The sun had already set. The pulchritudinous navy-dark sky was in shape. The dark green shade making a canopy over the street.

We walked her way back home. I left her only to meet her the next day. The nearby cafe was our destination for the morning caffeine. I saw her waiting for me inside while being restless. Those flock of hairs when she played with now and then. That eternal charm which doesn't let me be calm. Oh, how can she be such a creati...

People started running here and there. The cafe was in flames...
