Rolling down the agoraphobic ambience, down the inclined plain, shuffling and jostling between the crowds, I was with my peer. We were trying to visit the fair where the road would end up to. Though not been accustomed with such a circumstance, I was feeling a bit shaky in such a state.
Still I asked her, “Are you comfortable.” She replied nodding.
Though I wanted to show my concern towards her which I really possessed but couldn’t ask her as there was no eatery nearby. As if, we were among the bevy of rabbits trying to pave the way out of the warren and to reach the carrot.
We were getting restless a bit but still the journey in the train from Kolkata to Shantiniketan hadn’t left a lot of boredom and franticness in our mind because it was winter. We came here with the sole objective of visiting the Poush Mela organised every year.
Finally, we reached the open space which all roads bumped into. There was a strange kind of energy in people. The place itself was ecstatic and people were highly exuberant.
She held my hand and wanted me to soothe her as eve was approaching and it was getting cold.
I asked her, “You comfortable…?”
“With you… I’m always”, she replied with a smile.
Without asking her further, I unzipped my jacket and made her wear that. I saw a man standing with a placard of ‘2324’ written on it. I approached the man as I remembered Raj had said me to. We went behind the man and found Raj sitting inside the car. He came out and approached me whether we had any difficulty in arriving there.
Rajdeep Chakraborty, a friend of mine had an abode in Shantiniketan. He was an IT faculty. Though he lived in the teacher’s quarter of IT Kharagpur, he came to Bolpur as a result of the final exams ending in the engineering college.
The car went straight inside the grilled gate and drifted passed the huge lawn and the driver parked it by the side of the huge banyan tree which laid its branches above everything like a shelter. I caught a glimpse of the name plate which was in black and the letters boldly inscribed in it with golden as ‘Khoai’.
Out of intuition she asked him what did the name on the plate signify?
“It is the name of a river”, he replied
After the vehicle was vacated, Raj made us aware of our room and then he went as he had to make a phone call. It was a huge one with all luxurious necessities in it. A bed, decorated with various side curtains. The rear side of the room made way to a hallowed portal. I asked her to company me to have a look where did the path gives way to. She held my hand tightly and was walking behind me as the make way was neither illuminated by any light nor did it have any window. After a moment of hesitation I could make out that I had knocked something down and it was none other than a wood door lock which remains suspended at the side of the door.
My mobile ringed and when I was just going to answer it, the battery didn’t give me any support. Her phone was inside her handbag which she had left inside the room.
She asked me to push the gate in front of us. I disclosed the gate and what struck us was something magnificent.
There was a huge lake with a place full of Ranga mati as the localites call it. The colour of the water in the lake was pale blue. I managed to climb the heap of soil and lent a hand of assistance for her to come. There was a minute of silence as we both looked towards the water which engulfed us with its pristine glory under the night sky.
I was waiting for such a moment of awe in order to happen because I was about to do something which I felt had to be done. She came closer to me and had placed her hand beside mine. My fingers crawled to reach her fingers and caught hold of them. She didn’t utter a word. Slowly, we interlocked our fingers and she came near to me. I made her turn towards me holding her by her shoulder. We had an eye contact for a split second and then she looked down. I started complementing her hair which was silky and smooth. My hands went above from her shoulders to her cheeks. I was holding her head within my palm. She didn’t look at me a single time till then.
I went near her right ear and placed a wet, gentle touch with my tongue. She neither moved nor said a word as she was enjoying what I was doing. I went near her, nudged her nose with mine and planted a kiss on her forehead.
I was going back when she whispered, “Don’t stop…”
I said to myself that when your counterpart gives you the green signal to romance then why should I stop. I went near her again. This time, with more affection. I could sense her breath falling on my hands when she moved her head a bit to place it on my hand. I returned back to the place I stopped. I held her within my palms and went near her. She closed her eyes tilting her head a bit. I kissed her. She kissed me back and it went for nearly quarter of a minute.
“I will make you mine forever”, I said.
Clearing her throat she replied back, “I am yours from now.”
I whispered, “I Love you…”
She replied with the same in a more sensuous tone.
